Let Us….#1

There is always so much encouragement from our Lord in His Word. He whips to life letter after letter as they lovingly yet briskly converge to form words that combine to become love notes from our Father. These notes of His gather to emphasize a real touch from a very real God.

The words profess that He loves us, and that He desires we dive deeper in the things of Him. They echo the thoughts of:

“Daughter, c’mon.
Come this way.
There is more.
I have goodness in store for you.
Press in.
Don’t give up.
Allow me to guide you in the way that is right, in the way of love…in the way of Me.”
Today His love letters center within the book of Hebrews. The emphasis for this journey and  encouragement for the path is…. Let Us

There will be several “let us” encouraging notes over the next few posts.  All are from Hebrews. Take heart, ponder them, pray over them and be changed by a very real God.

#1.  Let us draw near to God.

let us draw near to God
with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith…
Hebrews 10:22 NIV*

Sometimes it’s so easy to confess His love, to accept Jesus as Savior, and to read our daily devotions, yet it’s also easy to keep God at arm’s length. He wants our heart, the complete heart. Let us open our hearts fully to Him. Let us open up with sincerity, with faith at full throttle. He desires that we are near….no more “arm’s length” for us.

Fear might try to talk us out of “opening up” to God.
“It’s too painful!”
“It’s too scary!”
Fear might try to stop our forward motion.
“You’ll look so ridiculous.”
“There’s not time in your day for this.”
Fear might try to entangle us in any way it can.
“I don’t know how to do this.”
“There’s nothing wrong with me. My faith is OK right where it is.”
“Oh, I can’t do that.”

But, let us remember that God can do so much more than fear could ever muster the ability to begin. Let’s throw fear aside, not allowing it to derail all the Lord has in store as we move forward with “let us.”

Father,
Thank You for loving me. Thank You for your Word that so richly encourages. I hear Your “let us…” and I take it to heart. I hear You calling me. I hear…
You can have my heart, Lord. There is no more “at arm’s length” for me. In sincerity I open my heart to You, knowing in full faith that You can draw me near as no other. I desire to draw near to You. I look forward to knowing You more. I look forward to reflecting the image of Jesus more each day. Show me the way, Oh Lord.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

With Love,
Kristi
