Today’s practical tip: eliminating fruit flies.
Their wings zipped by my head as I washed dishes. (And yes, I actually heard them. That’s how many there were!) They came with a vengeance, multiplying at an alarming rate.
The onslaught of fruit flies moved forward in their battle. Fruit was discarded, hot water poured down drains, and surfaces cleaned. You name it, we did it.
Nothing, that is, until we tried dish soap.
A small jar filled halfway with apple cider vinegar and two or three drops of dish soap worked wonders. We covered it with plastic wrap and poked a hole in the top, which allowed the wrap to sag down in the middle. That simple little piece of war equipment solved our problem in record time, going where no apple cider vinegar alone dared go.
If you have fruit flies, give it a whirl. You might be surprised how easy it is to solve your pesky fly problem.
