Meet the Author: Danise Jurado

Danise_Jurado1

She lives on the west coast of the USA and speaks life into the lives of many women. She’s a blogger who circles around some of the same link-ups as I do, but most importantly and well before blogging, she lifts the name of Jesus. Please meet Danise Jurado.

Danise is a pastoral counselor at the Los Angeles Dream Center where she puts feet to her love for Christ. There’s excitement in the air because her first book, Fulfilled: Learning to Live the Life God Promised, is releasing this August. As a preview, Danise and I spoke a bit about the book.  I hope you enjoy our interview.

About Danise Jurado and Fulfilled

A hearty “welcome” from all our readers, Danise! Would you please give us a little about your background to help readers get to know you?

I’m a wife, mom and nana to some pretty amazing people! I have a sincere passion for God and His truth that has given me freedom and spiritual fulfillment. I love people and have served as a pastoral counselor for fifteen years; helping people overcome obstacles to discover their most fulfilled life in Christ.

Why did you write Fulfilled: Learning to Live the Life God Promised and why now?

Book cover of Fulfilled: Learning to Live the Life God Promised by Danise Jurado

This book has been a ten-year writing journey for me. God has blessed my life with people who saw the potential for this book hidden deep within me, long before I did. They encouraged me to write and little by little God helped me pour my heart out onto the pages until it was finished.

Quick Synopsis

Would you mind giving us a quick synopsis?

Throughout this book I share both personal stories and practical steps that have been proven to be powerful tools in my own life and helping others to discover spiritual freedom. God can turn our most painful moments of betrayal and disappointment into restoration, healing and joy. He teaches us how to accept and extend forgiveness, release fear, overcome unhealthy patterns and awaken to our complete God-given potential. Our soul is designed to need God. We all need the fulfillment that He gives. No matter where we are in our spiritual life, God reaches out to us personally with His promises and offers us the freedom our soul longs for.

Reader Takeaway

What do you hope readers will take away from reading your book?

My prayer is that God would reach out through the pages and touch the heart, to the depths of the soul; the place no one else sees and bring the power of His life-changing freedom in Christ to every person who reads it.

I see half of the proceeds are donated to the LA Dream Center. I love it!

The Dream Center is a wonderful organization that reaches over 85,000 people every month through both residential and outreach ministries; helping people overcome things like addiction, abuse, homelessness and poverty. They provide housing, food, clothing, furniture, education, job placement training and most importantly the hope and love of Christ. The mission of The Dream Center is to find a need and fill it, find a hurt and heal it.

Danise, thank you for your time.

Thank you, Kristi, for inviting me to share on your blog today. Your prayers and encouragement have been a precious gift to me.

It’s been a joy, and you are most certainly welcome, Danise. Above it all, may God get the glory through the lives of those who read these words and are changed by His very touch.

You’ll find a quick preview of her book here.

  1. Danise, Congratulations on your book. It sounds wonderful. I was a counselor for 24 years in a non-profit ministry too. It sounds like the Dream Center is doing amazing things.

    1. Thank you Debbie! Yes! The Dream Center is a beautiful place of God’s hope and restoration! Wow! 24 years of counseling… Thank you for leading so many to the freedom God has for them! Blessings to you!

  2. Love that you are supporting a fellow writer’s book. I want to have that sort of community with other writers/friends. Sounds like an amazing book! I will definitely look for it.

  3. So excited for you Danise- what a dream come true as you share your words with the world. Thanks for being an active member of the #RaRaLinkup. We are cheering for you!

    1. Thanks Katie. It does help when we link together, being part of one body (like you and Kelly).
      🙂

  4. Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more
than just your articles? I mean, what you say is fundamental and
everything. But imagine if you added some great graphics or
videos to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is
excellent but with images and videos, this
site could definitely be one of the greatest in its field.
    Great blog!
