But Jen was not happy. She was angry. They hadn’t discussed it, and she didn’t like this new change in Greg. Her wounded past was crying, “Foul!”

She ran in search of her own answers, asking co-workers and others, “Who is this Jesus?” Her quest led the Christmas and Easter only church-goer, the worldly gal who was previously apathetic toward Jesus, to the very door of the One who could truly and completely fill her empty cup. Apathy couldn’t keep its throne in the shadow of the Almighty’s third cord.
After weeks of anger supposedly caused by Greg’s decision, although an inner churning within her own being was truly the cause, Jen’s eruption halted and peace entered her scene.
Jen was ready.
Pride was set aside.
She knew she couldn’t do life alone.
She handed her cup to Jesus, and said, “Fill me.”
And He did.
He filled her with love and grace. His mercy, righteousness, and strength became the cream and sweetness of Jen’s life. The worry and stress that bound her hands were loosed as the Third Cord intertwined with her life. She was a changed woman.
This once very worldly woman, who had little concern for God , has become a girl of God, allowing Him to liberally rain His love on her.
Jesus is a part of her daily life now, no longer a forgotten god. He’s thought of and talked with daily, by both Jen and Greg, versus simply at Easter or Christmas, or not at all. He is their life.
God Almighty is strengthening their marriage against the forces of evil. Their union looks completely different now that God’s third cord has intertwined with them. It’s a strong marriage. He’s truly a miracle-worker like that.
They are proof that God CAN take our past and turn it into something beautiful. He can take what others or we have discarded, thinking it useless or incapable, and He says through Me, you are ABLE.

Their story is a great reminder that ANY LIFE, ANY MARRIAGE can be transformed by the third cord of the original transformer: Jesus. It’s with that third cord that we are strong and can withstand the forces coming against us.
Is there a part of whole of your life that needs transformed? How about someone you know, that neighbor, friend, or family member? Here’s a prayer for you or them:
You are God and God alone. I love you, and I need transformed. Lord, take my life, this one area and the whole of me… fill me and transform me, Lord. Draw me into the depths of Your love through trust that I might be changed forever. Strengthen me with Your third cord, so that life will never be the same.
In Jesus’ Name,
