How far do you trust God?
C’mon, let’s be honest. It’s easy for us to trust His faithfulness when life flows well, isn’t it? We’d likely all be in the running for faith’s blue ribbon.
But what about life’s speedbumps and potholes?
What about those blown tires leaving us flat-out stranded? What then?
Life lived real isn’t a place for pansy-filled faith. Flat-tire journeys are ripe with faith-building opportunity. But make no mistake – they’re often painful.

Life lived real is where faith meets the road – the stripping of self and gathering of God’s faithfulness.
But let’s don’t talk about our faith, not directly at least. Let’s focus on God’s. How about a survey?
1-10 (1 = low, 10 = out of this world)
In general, how would you rate God’s faithfulness?
How would you rate your trust in His faithfulness concerning finances?
In marriage?
In parenting?
With control?
When anxiety knocks?
With the future?
Now let’s take those answers and thoughts with us as we consider our memory verse for the month – PS 91:4.
It’s interesting how different versions help us paint a slightly different picture.
NLT ~ Armor & Protection
WEB ~ Shield & Rampart
KJV ~ Shield & Buckler
AMP ~ Shield & Wall
“Armor” and “protection” might cause us to consider a warrior protected well with steel. Can you visualize such a warrior?
“Shield” and “wall” might help us consider His faithfulness – God Almighty standing immovable, protective, and quite powerful. A wall isn’t temporary – usually. It’s big and massive for a reason. God’s faithfulness, like a giant wall, remains immoveable.
So when we consider finances, parenting, marriage – even our tomorrows, let’s rally behind our Father’s faithfulness. It is our shield and wall for today, tomorrow, and beyond.
Bask in His truth today, my friend, and stand firm in freedom forever.
Amen. He tells us in His word to rely on His past faithfulness…to tell each generation of His goodness. What a difference it makes when we choose to focus on that truth rather than on the circumstances. The peace and comfort that comes from knowing — He’s got this — is incomparable. Good reminder today, friend. Thank you. ((hug))
Focus is key, isn’t it? Love seeing your smiling face here, Brenda.
I love the picture you painted using different translations. Yes, ’tis hard to rise above the flat tire sometimes 🙂 Thank you for sharing His word your way! Timely post for me.
Love how God’s timing is perfect. Thanks for visiting, Charla. You’re a joy.
Very thought provoking! I always need the reminder that God is faithful through everything, even the hardest of times.
This post is a great encouragement to my heart, thank you so much for sharing what God gave you. This statement really resonates with my spirit during this season of my life… our Father’s faithfulness… It is our shield and wall for today, tomorrow, and beyond.
