Week 2 is here! Banking those Scriptures in our hearts is battle material.
How did Week 1 go, warrior?
PS 84:11 is now BANKED on my end. Whoopie! It is hidden in my heart and ready to be used. I hope yours is the same.
And the great part? While studying Scripture and reading other Scriptures in my reading plan, the shield and favor showed themselves over and over. In all the previous reads, I had never connected the dots. Go God, go!
No good thing does the LORD desire to withhold from us. He simply desires to shield us with His favor. Lovely!
How did I memorize Scripture?
~Chalkboards. I wrote this lovely on a chalkboard in the kitchen.
~The mirrors! Both the kids’ bathroom mirror and ours were plastered with chalkboard markers and PS 84:11. Fun little pictures like suns and shields make it more, well, fun!
~In a small notebook. My new little friend fits in my purse or just about anywhere. I can repeat it in the car, I can repeat it in the store. I can repeat it, well, just about anywhere. Thanks trusty notebook!
~ In song. A Mercy Me tune suddenly took on a new look with the words of PS 84:11 plastered onto it. And it worked! I’m still singing that puppy. Do you remember School House Rock? 35+ years later and I can belt out the Preamble to the Constitution like nobody’s business…simply because the words were neatly packaged in the midst of a few musical notes.
~Repetition. I set a goal of repeating the verse at least 5x daily. Those glorious repetitions of previously banked Scriptures will continue each week as new battle gear, aka Scriptures, are banked. I’m not certain if I’ll repeat the old verses 1x, 3x, or 5x. Stay tuned on that one.
How about you? Did you set a goal and achieve it? If so, let’s CELEBRATE! Hiding God’s Word in your heart is always something to celebrate. You’re preparing your sword for battle. Well done, my friend.
Now, for Week 2.
The Scripture for Week 2 is located at the beginning of this post. It centers on our relationship with others. Last week’s verse centered on our relationship with God, this week’s verse will focus on our relationship with others.
(As a reminder, you can right mouse click then paste the Scripture above onto MS Word for printing.)
Onward for yet another successful deposit, my friend. You’ve got this! To God be the glory.
I love the idea of the chalkboard markers on the mirrors! Last week, I was painting with the kids and painted the scripture verse. I also posted it on my fridge and repeated it often. And I have it memorized! Yay! Looking forward to getting this one hidden in my heart as well!
One of my goals this year was to memorize 26 verses I had never memorized before. Thanks for doing this…now I don’t have to think about what I’m going to memorize, since you’ve already chosen the verses for us!
Yay for chalkboard markers! And, yay that you’ve banked week 1’s Scripture in your heart.
I love, love, love that you painted it with your kids, Michelle. God’s Word is impacting them and you. 🙂 Onward to week 2…
What a great way to start the year off. I have been writing in my journal and finding a few TRUTH that God has spoken to my heart. I look in my everyday situations to weave the verse in to my life as I dig into it deeper.
The lord God is the one who grows me warms my heart with his grace and love. Protects me from the enemies traps. He uses his grace to heal me and set me free, which brings him glory. He is a good daddy that pours his goodness unto me his lititle girl.
thanks kristi for pressing us to dig deeper. Im loving this
“I look in my everyday situations to weave the verse in to my life as I dig into it deeper.” Oooo….love this! Applying the deposit to real life. Yes. Go get ’em, girl.
I am so excited to be finally getting to engrave these verses on my heart…mahalo Kristi for different was to do this…have an awesome day in God’s love and His word.
aloha shentel
Aloha Shentel, I love seeing you on here and your language that brings such wonderful memories. (Can I tell you how much good an aloha, mahalo, or a Hawaiian phrase does this girl’s attitude?!) Mahalo, my sweet friend. So glad you’re joining me as we engrave so our hearts will be forever changed. 🙂
I love your verse memorization tips and, of course, this week’s verse : )
“He simply desires to shield us with His favor.” love this!
It’s a familiar verse, eh? 😀 I want to continually dig and allow God to change these words of mine, and I definitely want to put to use what I learned through Karen Ehman’s book, Keep It Shut.
Have a wonderful week, shielded with His favor, Crystal.
