Easter is approaching. But you knew that, didn’t you?
It’s the perfect time to talk friends.
Think about the good friendships you have. What are their attributes? What makes those people or that person a good friend?
Recently I asked that very question on social media. The list folks left was large! Many, however, duplicated answers. I created an article for ibelieve.com centered on five of those common answers. Take a peek here.
But let’s take this heavenward. How about Jesus? Is He on the friend list?
I must admit, I’m much more likely to list my face-to-face friends and our relationship attributes, not the heavenly. There’s something about wrapping the mind around concerning this friend thing with Jesus. I’m convinced I don’t understand it all – yet. So I pray, because my heart desires as much of Him as is earthly possibly while these feet still patter this soil. The prayer, if you’re interested, is shared below.
Jesus sets the mark highest among friends, doesn’t He? He’s loving, has a fantastic listening ear, and holds all things confidential. But mostly – it’s that He gave His life. Now that is greater love.
My friend, may you enjoy this season of Easter. May you bask in His beautiful friendship and hold high His greater love.
Blessings.
Lord,
Thank You for Your friendship. Thank You for laying down Your life. Thank You for rising again and being my mediator. Grant me wisdom to better understand, appreciate, and celebrate Your friendship, Your greater love. Help me to have full grasp on all You offer. I simply desire more of You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
