Daniel 1
Care to journey with me through Daniel?
The next few posts will include a few “ah-ha’s” the Lord has given me recently through this amazing book of the Bible. It’d be great to have you along for the journey, sweet friend. If you so desire, read chapter 1 first, then come back here and we’ll “compare” notes and encourage one another.
Feel free to leave a comment here on the blog. Who knows, it might encourage someone clear across the USA. HE is!
Here we go…….
Yes! I love it. He stood strong, sticking to his guns, so they say, even in the face of social pressure.
Regardless of our situation, we have a choice: to resolve to not defile, or to resolve to defile ourselves. The choice, that final decision, is ours and ours alone. It’s a powerful one at that.
The choice to not defile, heeded amazing results. In fact, much of the rest of the book of Daniel branches off of these two results:
I wonder…what would happen if we stood tall to sin, sticking to our guns and resolving not to defile ourselves? Regardless of the situation, peer pressure or not, how would that look? What would He call our attention to? Would knowledge and understanding be given?
Praying you’ll stand in resolve to not defile yourself, and that knowledge and understanding will abound, for with God all things are possible.
He Is,
Kristi
What a amazing first chapter.
RESOLVE is a strong word that means: To be devoted to principles and
to a course of action.
Daniel resolved not to defile himself, he was being true to a life long determination
to do what was right and not give in to the pressure around him.
We too are offten assaulted by pressures to compromise our standards and live more
like the world around us.
If we think through our convictions before the temptation arrives it will be much easier
to resist falling into a trap.
Like Daniel “WE MUST RESOLVE TO OBEY GOD”
Blessing To All,
Shentel
