Proclaiming Psalms

To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul;
Psalm 25:1 NIV*

They are strong and powerful, ushering us into His presence, proclaiming His majesty and reminding us of Him. “They” are the Psalms.

There is great strength in praying them back to our Lord. They stir the spirit and usher in His presence, filling us with the goodness of our Lord.

Have you considered praying them to God Almighty?  May I share that I do this on a regular basis and it proves to be nothing but power and time overflowing with His Spirit.

Take Psalm 25 for example. The whole Psalm is fantastic to pray, but let’s go to vs. 10-11.(based on NIV) Here is what you might say:

“All the ways of You, LORD, are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of Your covenant. For the sake of your name, O LORD, forgive my in iniquity, though it is great.”

Oftentimes you’ll find me pacing as I recite, proclaiming it out loud. There seems to be more power in it this way for me personally.

Here is a list of some of my favorite Psalms (whole or in part) to recite:
1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 15, 16, 18, 20, 23, 25,
27, 30, 31, 34, 37, 40,
46, 52, 56, 57, 63, 84,
91, 92, 103, 105, 113, 118,
119, 120, 121, 123, 130, 131, 138, 139,
141, 142, 143, 145, 147-150.

Psalms….there are many and they are powerful. In this time of new, consider their strength as an open opportunity for you.

He Is,
Kristi
