The Churches
My personal study in Revelation has begun. It promises in 1:3 that I’ll be blessed just by reading this book. Love it! (The blessing is open for you too, if you read Revelation.)
In v. 5 He reminds me that He loves me and has freed me. What beautiful encouragement!
V. 8 reminds me of who He is:
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God,
“who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Rev. 1:8 NIV*
Chapter 2 starts the procession of the churches. It’s encouragement for us to cling to Him for our righteousness. We’ll take a look at a couple of churches now, stay tuned for more to come in future posts.
The church at….
Ephesus – They’ve forsaken their first love. They are busy bees, doing good, yet they’ve forgotten their first love. It’s a great season for us to keep our eyes on our first love, remembering to repent.
Smyrna – Yes, there is suffering and testing, yet I am encouraged to be faithful. And, in doing so, I will be assured of receiving the crown of life.
Keeping our eyes on the One in the manager and remaining faithful through the testing and suffering are the keys this week as we head into the season of busyness. Be encouraged my friend.
He Is,
Kristi
