A High School Graduation Prayer + Printable
Got a High School Graduation Prayer Ready?
It’s time for high school graduations. Maybe you, like me, have a child who’s about to cross the stage, empty-handed as they find their way to the stairs, but a diploma gripped tightly as they exit. Or, maybe it’s a more distant family member, a neighbor, a fellow believer, or a young adult tugging at your thoughts. All could use prayer, because all are about to embark on a journey into adulthood.
Because idleness slips into the plans of the enemy, let’s take our graduating seniors to the throne in prayer. Let’s do battle on their behalf.
Below is a high school graduation prayer useful for any and all of these situations.
Bible Verse for a High School Graduate
Here’s an on-point Bible verse for any high school graduate. (Okay, so it’s actually two verses. They blend so nicely, don’t you think?!)

Short Graduation Prayer
Father,
Thank You for my graduate. You knit him (her) in the womb. You made plans that included this child. And Your work in them is good. You placed me and other people in their life to support, encourage, and shine a light. Thank You for this opportunity. No doubt Your love goes before my graduate. I take solace in that. May he (she) have ears to hear You clearly, a heart that knows You deeply, and unmoveable courage to trust You. I pray that this one will take their thoughts captive, making them obedient to Your ways, that they’ll recognize the path of godly obedience and will journey there. May Your all-consuming love remind them that You are near–in good times and in tougher ones. And Holy Spirit, pour out Your wisdom and lead them well. Praise You, Jesus, for Your work here on earth, and thank You for this child who’s graduating and launching into adulthood.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
