Have you ever had one of those days where you really don’t want to go to church, small group or some event that encourages in the Lord? I certainly have, and my guess is that most of us have. It might be because we’re tired or it could even be because we’re upset with someone or our schedules are getting so full that they overflow with everything but the Lord.
The conversation in my head has gone like this: “I really don’t feel like going. I’m tired and just don’t feel like it.” A sigh has typically followed close behind, and after a bit of internal cheerleading, the bootstraps were pulled up as I headed out the door. Honestly, there have been times when I’ve had to force myself to go. BUT…in the end, it usually proved to be a fruitful endeavor and the pressing in was worth every ounce of energy.
Lately there has been such a stirring in my heart for ladies who are weary, angry, offended or struggling in some fashion or another. They are pulling away as a result….away from the Lord, away from church, away from the small groups, away from the devotion time with others…away. They arerunning to the land of self-preservation instead of pressing in to the strength of the Lord and the land of the fruitful. They are forsaking and neglecting to assemble together with believers.
Are you pulling away? Have you found yourself recently walking away because you “just don’t feel like it?” Please be encouraged today and know that many of us have been there. As one who has, I can also say, there is fruit in the land of those who press in. When you don’t feel like it, do it anyway. Cheerlead yourself or hear these words chiming in your memory…”Please don’t give up meeting as some do.” Don’t be part of the “some.” Instead, take that straight and narrow way of the few, pressing in when you feel like giving up. Let us continue meeting together. Then, be prepared to watch the testimony rise as His fruitfulness buds. He is a faithful God who leads us triumphantly and He will faithfully meet you.
It’s a beautiful day when we meet together as believers.
Forsake it not, strong warriors.
Much love and encouragement to you as you battle successfully in HIM,

Hmmmm I feel like this quite often. Most of the time I hunger for the groups and the fellowship but when I have a choice and it’s late and I’m tired, sometimes I make up excuses. THAT is not from God though, remembering what He would want for us is a good check and balance for this kind of situation. I love it Kristi- I’m sure it spoke to many others but it definitely hit close to home for me!

So glad Kristen. He is worth every ounce of pressing in. Press in my sweet friend!
