We read the Bible. We study its words.
Do the promises our Daddy situates within those pages sink deep within us?
Do we allow them to go to the depths, to light a glimmer of hope when there seems to be none, to offer an aromatic bouquet of faith and love where a stench at times overpowers the nostril?
Do we remember them, recalling their truth, when trials attempt to plow us under, throw us head-first into a deep, mud-filled trench of darkness?
We recall more, leaning on His understanding versus our own, as we mature in faith. It’s sort of a “rubber meets the road” situation. That’s where we grow.
So a prim and proper religion?
No thanks. Leave me far from it because it’s likely void of a real, deep relationship with the Lord.
Messy.
Hard.
Tiring.
That’s where tried and true waits.
It’s prime planting ground for maturity in faith.
We’ll face trials on the messy, hard, tiring journey. But God goes before us.

And His promises are faithful. They, according to our memory verse – Psalm 91:4, are our armor and protection. So let’s take PS 91:4 for a spin and see some of the Bible’s promises, shall we? And while we’re at it, let’s grow in faith.
Here are 10 promises of God with which we can grow:
- When we dwell in His shelter, we will rest in the Almighty’s shadow. (PS 91:1)
- He will save us from the fowler’s snare. (PS 91:3)
- We find refuge under His cover. (PS 91:4)
- He has plans for good, not bad. He gives us a hope and a future. (Jer. 29:11)
- When we remain in Jesus, He remains in us. (John 15:4)
- God will take care of us when we give our burdens to Him. (PS 55:22)
- The Lord will make our paths straight when we trust in Him, acknowledging him in all our ways. (Prov. 3:5-6)
- The peace of God will guard our hearts when we refuse anxiousness, and instead offer prayer, petitions, and thanksgiving. (Phil. 4:6-7)
- Believe in the Lord – that’s how we will be saved. (Acts 16:31)
- Jesus leaves us with peace. He gives differently than the world does. (John 14:27)

Thank you for this list of great promises from God. I think the Bible reference for number 4 should be Jer 29:11, not Hebrews.
And how did Hebrews sneak in there?! Thanks for the keen eye, Vicki, and leaving a quick note here. I appreciate you.
So many great verses!
True, Kelly!
I love these 10 promises SO much! Thank you for the reminder, and also for compiling these gems all in one place. I know I will be visiting these again and again!
Keep surrounded by those promises, Kristine. 🙂
