The Lord is….
The stillness always amazes me. The shimmering in the warmth of the morning sun even more so. It’s the waters of Pearl Harbor on a quiet, still morning.
This morning was one of those beautiful mornings. Very little moved in the calm except the feet of walkers and joggers and the melodious notes flowing from feathered friends. If I had to call it anything, it would undoubtedly be “peace.”
There’s something overwhelmingly peaceful when looking upon calm waters. It never ceases to take my breath away to see the beautiful reflections stillness and peace provide.
Like calm waters, God’s Word provides a stillness and peace in its own right. It calms the spirit when we are reminded of who our Lord is.
God took my spiritual breath away this week as I viewed the still waters of Psalm 18. The reflection as the words bounced back was stunning! It was the description of my Lord.
Take a peek in your Bible, underline, highlight, or notate those words which reflect how wonderful our Lord is.
He is our….
~ Strength
~ Rock
~ Fortress
~ Deliverer
~ Shield
~ Horn of Salvation
~ High Tower
~ stay
~ support.
Those are powerful words, all taken from the Amplified version of Psalm 18.
When we feel weak, He IS…our strength. Tap into it, tap into Him. Let His strength be yours.
When we feel thrashed and crashed in the sea of life, know that all things are rock-solid in the Lord.
Feeling attacked? He is your fortress. Step inside the walls of the Lord and see His protection fight those battles for you.
In a place where you least expected to be? Maybe it’s a stronghold that you can’t seem to shake? Your Deliverer is at hand.
Fiery darts can’t burn you when your Shield is firmly in place. Allow the Lord to be that Shield for you.
Scared of death? No need…He is your Salvation.
And so the list goes on…. Is it embedded in your heart? Have the waters of the Lord stilled the chaos in life, allowing for a shimmering, peaceful reflection?
Be encouraged to reflect on who He is this week, my friend. Proclaim the Lord’s goodness out loud, speak His words back to Him. “God, You are my Strength!” Or, “Good morning my Rock and my Deliverer.”
You’ll certainly have your own beautiful melody, whether it’s out loud, in your mind, or in a journal.Certainly, the calm waters of the Lord will be breathtaking!
